Nation of Gardeners results: Basil Piccolino

Basil PiccolinoThese Basil Piccolino are a new and exclusive variety for Mr Fothergill’s who are introducing them for the first time in 2014.  Basil can be grown all year round on windowsills, or on the patio and in the garden in warmer summer months.

These seeds produce dense, rounded plants with small, full flavoured leaves.  Basil is useful for adding to salads and many cooked Mediterranean dishes bringing a distinctive fresh flavour that lifts any dish.

Our Nation of Gardeners were asked to plant Basil Picolino in December 2013 as part of a windowsill growing challenge during the colder months of the year.  The table below charts their progress.
